Consumables Overview

Consumables (sometimes called "devourables") are specific items in the game which offer various enhancements to your character. These range from important resources refills to powerful buffs to your character's stats.

When acquired, consumables can be found in your Items inventory. Your items inventory can be accessed by visiting the Home > Items screen, or if you have the gestures add-on by swiping a capital "C" shape.

Consumables can be used directly from your Item inventory menu, and the effects are immediate. There is no limit to how many consumable items you can collect and hold, though there are some few specific consumables which have a daily usage limit.

Consumables Types

Consumables may be found in a wide range of individual items, spanning different categories.

Resource Consumables

Health

Consumables in the "Health" category will refill your Health resource by a percentage. This percentage is always based on your current max. Your current max is defined by your allotment of Health skill points. The percentage is added to your current health resource numbers when the health consumable is used.

Rage

Consumables in the "Rage" category will refill your Rage resource by points. These points are added to your current resource numbers when the rage consumable is used.

Energy

Consumables in the "Energy" category will refill your Rage resource by points. These points are added to your current resource numbers when the energy consumable is used.

Combined

Consumables in the "Combined" category will refill both your Rage and Energy resources simultaneously by points. These points are added to both of your current resource numbers when the combined consumable is used.

Special Consumables

Potions

Consumables in the "Potions" category offer various enhancements which can effect your vampire's power, defense, experience gains, blood accumulation, and/or access to special missions. These effects are are produced when the potion consumable is used.

Acquiring Consumables

Consumables are easy to attain. Many Resource consumables are attained as rewards for normal gameplay. Others are attained as rewards for attending monthly live gaming events, while others still are only available via purchase at The Crypt.

Note that Resource consumables attained as an event reward can be collected and used like an any other. Their only marked difference is that they are not giftable.

Using Resource Consumables

Resource consumables are simple. Once you've attained the consumable, open your Items screen. Choose the right consumable for your missing resource and tap the "Devour" button. Your resource addition will be given instantly!

You can learn more about what any Resource consumable does by reading their descriptions ingame.

Using Potion Consumables

Using potions is simple. Once you've purchased the potion, open your Items screen. Choose the right potion for your needs  and tap the "Drink" button. Your potion will take effect instantly!

While Potions are easy to use, they do have some rules surrounding them that make them slightly more complex than a normal Resource consumable. For example, most potions interact with discovered Relics during combat. Others will have their own properties, such as opening a special mission for players level 240+.

You can learn more about what Potions do by reading their descriptions ingame. However, there are some general rules to remember:

• Potions are limited in active effect time
• Potions are limited to 5 uses each day

• Potions are limited in stacking with relics. Only 1 potion may stack with its counterpart

• Potions cannot stack with themselves (you'll just reset your time if you try!)
• Potions are unlimited in how many you can purchase

• Potions are unlimited in how many you can store in your Items

• Potions are unlimited in the variety you may have active at once

• Potions are unlimited in fun every day

⚠ Important: Potions are launching as a BETA! feature. Barring any unforeseen exploits or severe bugs, we expect potions will remain consistently available. However after some time out in the wild to review usage and balance, along with any feedback from you, we may make changes to effects, times, limits, pricing, or more.

Any changes made to potions will effect not only future potions purchased, but also any in your inventory at the time of adjustment. We will, as always, alert you to any changes made to potions during the BETA! period. Beta (aka, public testing phase) has no set time limit. We want to gather data on these items to ensure their balance against daily and event gameplay.

(12/14/2023) Additional Beta Note on 3XP Potion:

When activated this potion provides a chance of tripled experience gains on every fight. However most Live Events also feature increased experience gains during combat. Due to a technical limitation, you cannot receive a Potion's tripled XP and an event's XP simultaneously. In any instance where Potion XP and Event XP coincide, the Event XP is favored. You will still continue to receive your Potion XP chance on any fight where Event XP is not awarded.

Gifting Consumables

All Resource consumables are giftable, with the exception of Event consumables and Potions. Gifting a consumable means you'll be taking one of your available consumables and giving it away to someone else.

To gift a consumable:

1. Visit any Profile screen of a vampire in your coven

2. Tap the Send Gift button, and a dropdown will appear

3. Tap the dropdown to see a menu of your available consumables to gift

4. Choose either the Free Gift or specific consumable name you'd like to gift and tap it

5. Tap confirm to send your gift through, or Cancel if you've changed your mind.

Free Gifts vs Specific Consumable Gifts

As you interact with the dropdown you'll notice your first choice will always be Free Surprise Gift. This option is rather a free gift from us to you, for you to share with your coven. Selecting this will send a random Resource or Combination consumable type to your recipient. Free Surprise Gifts are limited to [3] gifts throughout a 24hr period. This limit is raised to 5 gifts during monthly live gaming events!

After this, you'll see a list of your current qualifying consumable items. Choosing one of these specific consumables takes this item away from you and sends it to your recipient 's inventory. You'll only be sending x1 no matter how many you have. The consumable you want to gift must be in your inventory to appear on this list, and cannot be a disqualifying consumable (such as potions or event consumables).

Receiving Gifted Consumables
All gifts from coven will be received via your Events feed. The Events feed can be located at the bottom of your Home screen. Just click the text in the feed and your gift will be instantly claimed.

Note that as a data saving feature, the Events feed is cleared out after some time. If your gift went unclaimed when the feed was cleared out, you'll lose your gift. Be sure to coordinate your gifting with Coven in real time!
