Aug 2023 Patch Notes
The following is our Patch Notes to accompany the Phase 2: Prowling, subsequent to our June, 2023 Community Live Open Beta Test, taking us into an official feature launch. These notes contain patch-updates to the Prowling feature, and should be viewed as an accompaniment with specific amendments to our June 2023 Changelog. It includes information over numerous items and powers, updates to existing features, and UI & UX modifications, updates, and fixes.










⚬ Mechanics Update
• Noble and Champion class boss enemies now have level requirements built in


> Noble enemies now cannot be encountered before level [90], changed from [1 - Any ]
> Champion enemies now cannot be encountered until level [300], changed from [1 - Any ]


• Added Rising Health as a new available consumable type during enemy encounters


> Rising Health can be purchased at the Crypt
> Rising Health is available in the following variations:
          Rising Health 25%, Rising Health 50%, Rising Health 75%, Rising Health 100%
> Rising Health has a chance of being Uncommonly rewarded (in all variations) after defeating Champion bosses 


 


⚬ Items Update
Powers
• Lift bonuses have been significantly raised to all powers using the Prowling feature or its items to attain


> Lift 1 (levels 1 - 44) adds +10 points to original power’s high Stat
> Lift 2 (levels 45 - 89) now adds +20 points to original power’s high Stat, up from +15
> Lift 3 (levels 90 - 349) now adds +50 points to original power’s high Stat, up from +20
> Lift 4 (levels 350 - 1044) now adds +100 points to original power’s high Stat, up from +40
> Lift 5 (levels 1045 - 2114) now adds +120 points to original power’s high Stat, up from +45
> Lift 6 (levels 2115 - 3015) now adds +150 points to original power’s high Stat, up from +50


• Red Blood Upkeeps have been adjusted up to meet the new Lift raises. All upkeep raises continue to use the original formula which dictated the upkeeps prior to stat raises


• The new power cap has been raised by 115 points; it is currently set at [500], up from 385


Dev Note: The "Power Cap" is indicative of the highest power stat in the game. We use this cap as a guide for establishing values and rarities to powers & items. We have no intention of letting powers with a 500 feel commonplace. Rather it is reserved for the most prestigious items, available only to those who have put in the most time and effort.


 





PROWLING



 










⚬ UI, GUI, & UX Enhancements


General
• Graphical banners for Prowling across the board have been reduced in dimension to produce a smaller byte size, in an effort to help increase speed of page load


> This dimensional/byte reduction may slightly reduce the overall quality of the images depending on your device's screen density and your personal ability to see fine detail


Dev Note: It's important to remember that the Rising runs as a website and is not connected to a specific gaming engine. Thus, as with any website, pageload is predominantly determined by the quality of your internet connection. There will surely be times where a slowed connection on your end will result in slower image loading, regardless of its byte size.



Prowling Locational Entry Screen
• Free Prowls timer now behaves in a way that is expected. It now counts down rather than refreshing after home screen returns


Prowling Boss Screen, Consumables
• Health consumables module now displays first in line for easier access


Rewards Screens
• Graphics have been updated to better alert when Common, Uncommon, and Rare rewards are received


Boss Victory & Path Ended Screens
• Graphics have been updated to be more aligned with the style of new rewards screens


Crypt Consumables
• "Health" has been renamed "Instant Health"


• A new option of "Health" now exists containing consumable items


• All Health items have been moved to the top of their respective section, now displaying above Rage, Energy, Minion Top Up, etc.


Fusion
• Text for Level Requirement now displays in a dark orange color, and is accompanied by a flag symbol, to better stand out amongst the other information


• Text for Red Blood upkeep on powers is now recolored with a light red hue to better stand out amongst the other information


• Added text description for power disciplines


 





USER INTERFACE



 










⚬ Consumables
Health Consumables

• Added new consumable type, "Rising Health" as purchasable items


> Rising Health consumables are purchasable in amounts of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
> Rising Health consumable prices scale from least to highest refill amounts, at 1FP, 2FP, 3FP, 4FP
> Rising Health consumables behave as all others, accruing in your items screen
> Rising Health consumables are usable at any time, including while combating Prowling enemies


 


Health
• Changed name of single 100% health refill from "Health" to "Instant Health" for clarity


• Instant Health price increased to 4FP (up from 2FP) to match new Health Consumables
