These are upgraded versions of the common powers natural to each vampire and bloodline. Upgrading your common Red Blood powers is done through Fusion. Doing so requires ingredients. In this case these will be your original common red blood powers and specific collectable items called mats (materials). Prowling will be your source of acquiring the correct mats required for your upgrade.
For more on how Prowling works, see our Prowling Gameplay Overview, and don't miss the links at the bottom of that article for detailed explanations of the feature!
Just as with common red blood powers, upgraded red blood powers will have their own upkeeps. Beware that you pay attention to these upkeeps, as they are based on upgraded stats and could incur a significant economic penalty should you not have enough hourly bloodflow coming from your current Marked Ones.
Why Upgrade Your Normal Red Blood Powers?
Upgraded Red Blood Powers (or RB II powers) have significant stat increases versus a common red blood power that has not been upgraded. Stat increment raises are allotted at certain intervals throughout all upgraded red blood powers, and affect groups of powers by their levels.
When this stat increase allotment happens, it's called a Lift. Each Lift provides a big boost to the highest stat number of any common red blood power. This makes any upgraded red blood power incredibly competitive to those using common powers.
Example:
In the Physical discipline, the first lift, named Lift 1, will cover experience Levels 1 - 8.
A normal, non-upgraded Fangs power will have a stat of 2 | 1. Between attack and defense, the Attack on this power is the highest stat. This attack stat of 2 is what will be affected by Lift 1.
Lift 1 offers a +10 stat boost. So an upgraded Fangs II power will have a stat of 12 | 1. Amazing!
Lifts currently occur in six intervals from Level 1 through to Level 3015 through all disciplines, and are as follows below:
LIFT 1: +10pt | LIFT 2: +15pt | LIFT 3: +20pt | LIFT 4: +40pt | LIFT 5: +45pt | LIFT 6: +50pt |
While there are many factors at play during a PvP fight, in most instances, this Lift system should allow you to fight up from one to several levels against anyone who isn't upgrading their common red blood powers.
It also serves as a fun competitive edge should you have more time to devote to upgrading than any of your enemies, as the more powers you have versus someone else doing the same, the better your arsenal will be and the better your fight result.
Where To Locate Red Blood Power Upgrades
All RB II upgrades are conducted in Fusion. You can access fusion by tapping the Fusion button on your Homescreen, then using the dropdown to Filter by Power Upgrades.
How To Upgrade Red Blood Powers
To perform an upgrade, you must first meet the requirements.
• The first requirement is your Level. If you are below the required level you'll be unable to fuse the power.
• The next requirement is ingredients. You'll need to have the original power on hand in an amount equal to the number of upgrades, and the correct amounts of basic (or advanced) materials gathered from Prowling.
Once the requirements are met, simply tap the Fuse button. Note that you can create upgrades in bulk should you have enough ingredients!
Creating powers and items takes time. You'll see a timer at the top of your fusion once its begun. This indicates that your powers are being created. All completed fusion powers must be claimed to be added to your arsenal. So be sure to drop back in and claim your completed power(s) once they're complete!
How To Destroy Red Blood Powers
As you know, with common red blood powers you may unlearn them. However with their upgraded counterparts: once fused they may only be destroyed. Destroying a power does not return any materials to you but it will free up your bloodflow by absolving your upkeeps per power destroyed.
This is the best reason to decide to destroy your upgraded powers, as upgraded powers are expensive and managing your hourly bloodflow is quite important the more powerful you become.
You can destroy any upgraded power by tapping Powers, then use the dropdown to filter by Upgraded. On this screen, locate the upgraded power(s) you want to destroy, choose the amount using the lower dropdown, then press Destroy.
